TPEE（熱塑性聚酯彈性體）是含有聚酯硬段和聚醚軟段的嵌段共聚物。其中聚醚軟段和未結晶的聚酯形成無定形相聚酯硬段部分結晶形成結晶微區，起物理交聯點的作用。TPEE具有橡膠的彈性和工程塑料的強度；軟段賦予它彈性，使它象橡膠；硬段賦予它加工性能，使它象塑料；與橡膠相比，它具有更好的加工性能和更長的使用壽命；與工程料相比，同樣具有強度高的特點，而柔韌性和動態力學性能更好。
力學性能 通過對軟硬段比例的調節，TPEE的硬度可以從邵氏30-82D，其彈性和強度介于橡膠和塑料之間。與其它熱塑性彈性體相比，在低應變條件下，TPEE模量比相同硬度的其它熱塑性彈性體高。當以模量為重要的設計條件時，用TPEE可縮小制品的橫截面積，減少材料用量。TPEE具有極高的拉伸強度。與聚氨酯(TPU)相比，TPEE壓縮模量與拉伸模量要高得多用相同硬度的TPEE和TPU制作同一零件前者可以承受更大的負載。在室溫以上，TPEE彎曲模量很高，而低溫時又不象TPU那樣過于堅硬因而適宜制作懸臂梁或扭矩型部件，特別適合制作高溫部件。TPEE低溫柔順性好低溫缺口沖擊強度優于其他TPE，耐磨耗性與TPU相當。在低應變條件下，TPEE具有優異的耐疲勞性能且滯盾損失少，這一特點與高彈性相結合，使該材料成為多次循環負載使用條件下的理想材料，齒輪、膠輥、撓性聯軸節、皮帶均可采用。
TPEE具有優異的耐熱性能，硬度越高，耐熱性越好；TPEE在110～140℃連續加熱10h基本不失重，在160℃和180℃分別加熱10h，失重僅為0.05%和0.1%，因而TPEE的使用溫度非常高，短期使用溫度更高，能適應汽車生產線上的烘漆溫度(150～160℃)，并且它在高低溫下機械性能損失小。TPEE在120℃以上使用，其拉伸強度遠遠高于TPU此外TPEE還具有出色的耐低溫性能，TPEE脆點低于-70℃并且硬度越低，耐寒性越好，大部分TPEE可在-40℃下長期使用。由于TPEE在高、低溫時表現出的均衡性能，它的工作溫度范圍非常寬，可在-70～200℃使用。
